REPORTING IN/OUT PROCEDURES REPORTING IN TO AN OFFICERWhen an officer wants to see a cadet, the cadet is required to report to the officer. If the officer is in his/her office, the cadet should knock twice on the door and enter only when told to do so by the officer. The cadet, using appropriate facing movements, should proceed to a point three paces in front of the officer (or in front of the officer’s desk), salute, and state “Sir/Ma’am, Cadet (last name) reports as ordered.” The cadet should hold the salute until it is returned by the officer and remain at attention until instructed to be at ease. REPORTING OUTAfter the conversation comes to an end, the cadet should say “will that be all Sir/Ma’am?” After receiving an affirmative reply, the cadet should stand, salute again, and state “Good morning/afternoon/evening Sir/Ma’am.” After the officer returns your salute, execute the minimum amount of facing movements and leave the office. If the cadet must bring a backpack or notebook into the office, the cadet must place it on the ground or on a nearby chair before saluting
