Medical Insurance San Jose State University requires all international students to maintain
adequate health insurance throughtout the duration of their studies at
the University. International Students must have medical
insurance before registering for classes each semester.
A University approved plan may
be purchased online @ www.csuhealthlink.com with credit card payment before arrival. University Approved Health Insurance plan The University offers a comprehensive low cost insurance program. You may purchase coverage in three different ways: $850.00 annually, covering you from August 1, 2008 - August 1, 2009, or $360.00 for the fall semester, with coverage from August 1, 2008 - January 1, 2009, or $495.00 for the spring semester, with coverage from January 1, 2009- August 1, 2009 The insurance includes coverage for accidental injury/sickness, medical evacuation, and repatriation and is also valid when traveling outside the United States. Insurance may be purchased online https://www.csuhealthlink.com/ with credit card payment before arrival. This will facilitate your enrollment in classes prior to the end of pre-registration. The health care plan is administered by the Blue Cross PPO plan. Alternate insurance plans are not accepted. All registered students at San José State University are eligible
for health services at the Student Health Center. Services include a family
doctor, preventive medicine, laboratory diagnosis, X-rays, birth control,
pregnancy test, sexually transmitted diseases tests, AIDS/HIV information,
