san
jose state university is a pioneer in filmmaking. in 1927 the
school produced one of the first 35mm films of the century. it
was screened to a cheering crowd and generated some buzz and national
attention. film production track officially surfaced in the 50's.
rebuilding a unique
film production curriculum is a
priority of the program in the new millennium. in the past year,
we have built a film editing room, obtained 16mm film cameras,
and invested in field grip/lighting equipment. the mission is
to give our students the chance to practice filmmaking and utilize
related cutting edge technology. our 185-production
class gives students the chance to crew, observe, and learn from
hollywood professionals about 35mm filmmaking.
