Bio

Andrew F. Wood (Ph.D., Ohio University, 1998) is a Professor of Communication Studies at San José State University, California, USA. With over 30 years of experience in coaching, consulting, and teaching, Dr. Wood has developed a rich assortment of practical strategies designed to help professionals and students enhance their intercultural and communication competence. His courses and workshops help participants understand U.S. business practices (with particular focus on Silicon Valley workplace customs) and master diverse styles of public speaking and persuasion. Dr. Wood has taught in Argentina, Austria, China, Finland, Germany, Mexico, and Slovenia - and he completed a Fulbright Scholarship in Belarus. Recent books include A Rhetoric of Ruins: Exploring Landscapes of Abandoned Modernity and Relics of Modernity: Theorizing Rhetorics and Performances of Ruins.
