Bio
Dr. Rosemary Henze is an educational anthropologist whose teaching, research, and educational projects seek to enhance social justice and equity in education. She applies concepts and methods from anthropology and linguistics to the study of race relations, immigration and multilingualism, Islamophobia, and the spread of English, among other topics. Her most recent recent publications are How real is race? Unraveling race, biology, and culture, 3rd Edition (with Mukhopadhyay and Moses), Rowman and Littlefield/Bloomsbury, 2025; and The anthropology of education. Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Anthropology, 2020. Between 2012-2014, she served as President of the Council on Anthropology and Education. Her additional languages include Greek, French, and Spanish.
