The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act
The Clery Act is a federal consumer protection law that requires colleges and universities receiving federal funds to publicly disclose certain institutional policy, procedure, program and crime information that relates to the safety and security of the institution. The purpose of the Clery Act is to ensure that current and prospective students, employees and community members are provided with important information that helps them make informed decisions about their safety. The Clery Compliance Program at SJSU manages institutional compliance with the Clery Act as well as the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA).
