MentorNet, the e-mentoring network for women in science and engineering headquartered at SJSU, was named a Grand Prize winner in Cisco Systems Growing With Technology Awards 2004. According to Carol Muller, founder and CEO, "MentorNet has proven that productive mentoring can occur through e-mail, and it serves as a leading model of best practices for mentoring." The Cisco awards program was created to recognize small and medium-sized organizations that demonstrate how networking technology solutions can effectively address business challenges. MentorNet relies entirely on e-mail and the Internet to support one-on-one mentoring relationships for thousands of women. For more on MentorNet, see www.mentornet.net/.
