Faced with the largest budget cuts in its history, the California State University system has outlined plans to reduce next year's academic growth nearly in half, denying admission to as many as 30,000 students in the spring 2004 term. Under the new 2003/04 state budget, which calls for an additional $15 million in cuts to the CSU, there is a total net reduction of $345.2 million, or approximately 13 percent of its $2.6 billion general fund budget.
