Bio
Sanja Damjanovic is an Adjunct Professor in the Computer Engineering Department at San José State University, where she teaches in the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence Special Session program. Her courses include CMPE 180A: Data Structures and Algorithms in Python, CMPE 258: Introduction to Deep Learning, and CMPE 297: Computer Vision. She also serves as an expert advisor for master’s projects within the program.
Before joining SJSU in Fall 2022, Dr. Damjanovic was a Lecturer and Researcher in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands and a Research Scientist in computer vision at Food and Biobased Research, Wageningen University, The Netherlands. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Vision from the University of Twente, The Netherlands, and both her M.Sc. and Dipl.Ing. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Belgrade, Serbia.
She is a Senior Member of IEEE and serves on the Industry Advisory Board of the IEEE Future Directions Committee. Her research interests span computer vision, machine learning, and vision-language models.
