African American Studies, BA
This department offers instruction in a unified curriculum leading to the baccalaureate degree in African American Studies. Subject matter includes education, sociology, economics, social anthropology, public health, literature, art, psychology, and history all of which focus on African American community development.

SAGE Scholars Program: African American Studies, BA +
Single Subject Credential in Social Science + Teaching, MAT

The Spartan Accelerated Graduate Education Program (SAGE) allows students to earn their Bachelor of Arts concurrently with their Master of Arts in Teaching. This 5-year program prepares students to teach History, African American Studies, Ethnic Studies, and Social Studies in California public high school.
