 Explore the vibrant intersections of tradition and innovation in Japanese art and design! This immersive 3-week faculty-led program takes students to Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, where they’ll experience everything from cutting-edge contemporary design to centuries-old cultural practices. 

Open to all majors, the course combines museum and studio visits, hands-on workshops, and daily visual journaling. Earn 3 units of upper-division credit while expanding your global perspective and creative practice. Led by SJSU faculty, this unforgettable summer experience offers students a unique opportunity to study art and design in one of the world’s most dynamic cultural landscapes.
