Department History
The Aviation and Technology Department provides two distinct Programs.
Aviation Program, the first technical program on campus provides four options:
- Professional Flight
- Flight Operators
- Aviation Management
- Maintenance Management
Aviation Program used to be called Aeronautics until 1990 when the program was named Aviation. The Aviation Program was housed on Mineta San Jose International Airport until it was moved to the Regional Airport Reid-Hillview Airport.
Engineering Technology Program, the second technical Program in SJSU history offers two concentrations:
- Computer Network System Management
- Manufacturing Systems
These two programs joined as one department to be part of the College of Engineering in 1998.
