Employee Assistance
LifeMatters® by Empathia, San José State University’s confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP), is dedicated to employee well-being.
The program offers:

Spartan Recreation
Spartan Recreation is ready to help you kick off a healthy, active lifestyle—or maintain it. Spartan Recreation has an exciting selection of activities in state-of-the-art facilities including:

FASTFIT
FASTFIT, is available to staff, faculty, emeritus faculty, and retired staff of the University.
The program provides a place for current faculty and staff and retired faculty and staff to exercise without competing with students for equipment and space.

Eating well doesn't mean going on a strict diet. It's about making small changes that nourish your body and keep it running. Arm yourself with the knowledge to make healthier dining choices, every day.
Smoking Cessation
San José State University is a smoke- and tobacco-free campus ( PD 2014-01 [pdf] ). We are committed to promoting a healthy learning and working environment. Consistent with this commitment, smoking and tobacco use is prohibited in all indoor and outdoor areas on campus, including vehicles and parking lots.
A variety of smoking cessation programs are available through health benefit providers, LifeMatters and other organizations.
