Racial Healing Reading Program

SJSU Racial Healing Reading Program

image of the Racial Healing HandbookDear Colleagues,

We’re excited to invite you to participate in our Employee Reading Program this summer! Together, we’ll be reading The Racial Healing Handbook by Anneliese A. Singh—a thoughtful and practical guide designed to help us explore race, identity, and healing through personal reflection and meaningful conversation.

This book offers a wide range of powerful reflection activities that encourage readers to engage deeply with the material and with their own experiences. To support this journey, we’re creating dialogues where we’ll come together in person to reflect, share, and learn from one another. We believe these sessions will be a valuable foundation for ongoing personal growth and collective learning.

Program Details:

  • Dialogue 1: Tuesday, June 17, 2025, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Dialogue 2: Wednesday, July 9. 2025, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Location: To Be Determined

Lunch will be provided at both sessions from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

In appreciation of your full participation, you’ll receive a $200 Tango Gift Card. To receive the gift card, you must attend both discussion sessions and, at the end of the program, submit a brief reflection and personal action plan to demonstrate engagement with the material and outline how you can apply what you've learned.

Join us for this opportunity to reflect, connect, and grow together. This program is part of our campus action items in response to the Chancellor’s Office Black Student Success Report, and is co-sponsored by University Personnel, the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and the Office for Faculty Success.
