Program Overview
In California alone, the renewable portfolio standard (RPS) requires 60% of retail electricity sales to come from renewable resources by 2030, and 100% by 2045. To achieve these goals, engineers will need to help develop production, deployment, and grid-wide management of various renewable energy resources such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power, as well as battery and fuel cell storage technologies.
With a master's degree from San José State University, you'll gain the essential knowledge and technical skills required to formulate, analyze, and solve complex problems related to energy policies and optimal design and integration of sustainable energy sources into the modern power networks.
