MPH Curriculum
MPH Curriculum
The MPH program is based on the curricular elements identified by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) for graduate programs in public health. We offer a MPH degree with a specialization in community health education. The 42 unit curriculum is organized around a health education core (13 units), public health core (24 units), and practicum (5 units). Prerequisite knowledge in biostatistics is also required in the form of a 1 unit online tutorial for both campus and online students.
Students are also required to pass a comprehensive exam as their culminating experience. The comprehensive exam is the only culminating experience option for online students, but campus students may opt to do an independent project or thesis as their culminating experience, requiring additional units to their MPH program of study.
