Minor in Materials Science and Engineering
Undergraduate students majoring in any field of science or engineering may take a Minor in Materials Science and Engineering. A Minor requires an additional 12 units of approved Materials Engineering courses, beyond those courses required for the student's Major. Students may also elect to take Materials Engineering courses as technical electives fulfilling their Major requirements.
To plan for a Minor in Materials Science and Engineering, students should complete a Minor Form [pdf] and visit a Materials Engineering advisor.
To take Materials Engineering courses as technical electives as part of another Major, students should contact an academic advisor in their own department. Any student with appropriate prerequisites or consent of instructor is encouraged to enroll in Materials Engineering courses.
