San Jose State Unversity's Master of Public Administration program admits about 45 students total in two groups: fall and spring of each year. There are about 125 students in the program. Most students are fulltime working adults who attend classes parttime, with about 25% of the students attending fulltime. The program is fully in person, and each class meets one night per week, on either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, from 6:00 pm to 8:45 pm. Fulltime students can complete the degree in as few as four semesters. Parttime students generally finish in eight semesters, but may have up to seven years to complete the 11 courses and the final project.
The MPA program in the Political Science Department is part of the College of Social Sciences of San Jose State University. San José State University is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The Public Administration Program is an accredited member of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration.
