Change of Major: Biological Sciences

The Biology Change of Major materials and application process is for current students declared a major in the Biological Sciences Department AND for students declared a major outside the Biological Sciences Department interested in pursuing a change of major to any major within the Biological Sciences Department.

Students are encouraged to attend a Change of Major Informational Session and/or request a Change of Major Informational Packet each academic year due to potential changes to department-specific application requirements between application periods.

Biology Change of Major Informational Packet

• • Available June 2024: Request a Fall 2024 Informational Packet to view current information related to Change of Major criteria, deadlines, and the process of applying to a major in Biology
  • Complete the Change of Major Planning Worksheet (found in the Informational Packet) to gain access to the Change of Major Advising
  • Requesters will receive a Biology Change of Major Informational Packet in 3-5 business days

Fall 2024 Change of Major Informational Sessions

• • Available August 2024: Register to attend a Virtual Change of Major Informational Session led by CoS-SSC to receive detailed information related to the College of Science Change of Major process

Change of Major Advising

Change of Major Advising is available to students who have completed the Change of Major Planning Worksheet found in the Informational Packet starting August 2024.

Apply to Biology

To apply to a major within the Biology Department, evaluate your eligibility based on current admission criteria. When ready to apply, request a Change of Major Application. Requesting an application will be available in Fall 2024.

The Spring 2024 "Request for a Change of Major Application" is closed for Fall 2024 admittance consideration. If you have questions about your change of major application, contact the College of Science Academic Programs support unit.
