Clinical Preceptorship

Practicum for the Wound and Ostomy Courses

The Valley Foundation School of Nursing has established Student Placement Agreement with many clinical agencies in the Bay Area. Students will be assigned to designated preceptors if they take the practicum within the Bay Area. 

TVFSON also has designated preceptors in limited regions outside the Bay Area. Students may choose to take the practicum section in those regions.

Students who wish to take practica outside of our contracted agencies will have to locate their own preceptors. Preceptors must be approved by the WOCN accreditation committee criteria and the respective agencies need to sign a contract agreement with our school before a practicum can start. If students prefer to find their own preceptors, fees may be charged by the preceptor.

Please let us know if you are doing practicum at your own employment agency. We will do our best to establish a student placement contract with that agency.

Students have a choice of taking practica immediately after completion of the didactic courses or completing practicum within six months upon completion of each of the didactic course. 

Practicum for the Foot and Nail Course

We will be coordinating and assigning clinical placement. Students must take practicum at our designated clinical sites.
