How long is the MDes in Animation program at SJSU?
The MDes in Animation is a two-year, 60-unit terminal degree in design and animation.
Is the GRE required to apply?
No. The GRE is not required for admission to the MDes in Animation program.
When can I apply to the MDes in Animation program?
The program admits students for the Fall term.
Applications Open: October 1st
Deadline for Applications: February 1st
How much does the SJSU MDes in Animation program cost?
Tuition for 2027-2028 academic year is $1,109 per unit.
Do I need a portfolio to apply?
Yes. Applicants submit a portfolio through SlideRoom along with the required supporting materials. Please check our “Admissions” page for more information.
