InstaCare: Pre-Clinical Intake & Care for Urgent Medical Needs

Yulie Dai

This thesis project explores the integration of autonomous vehicles and telehealth technologies to create a new model of care and transport—InstaCare. By combining a health-focused mobile app with a robotaxi service, InstaCare aims to support patients and caregivers beyond simply providing a ride. The system delivers clear medical information, emotional reassurance, and guided preparation before clinical intake, helping individuals navigate urgent and stressful healthcare moments with greater confidence.

At the same time, InstaCare is designed to complement rather than burden urgent and emergent care teams. By streamlining patient flow and improving predictability in the care process, the service has the potential to ease strain on medical providers while enhancing patient experiences. This vision highlights the importance of collaboration between medical teams, insurers, and autonomous vehicle service providers in shaping a more responsive, patient-centered future of healthcare.
