Nancy Everett, and Phyllis Ward Washington DC Internship

The Everett, Nancy, and Phyllis Ward Washington DC Internship is administered by the Political Science Department to help support one student selected to participate in a summer congressional internship in Washington, DC. The summer stipend of $4,500 helps pay for housing, travel, and living expenses.

Scholarships (for housing and travel) are awarded to political science majors only; graduating seniors may apply. 

Not currently taking applications for Rep. Zoe Lofgren's office. 

Applicants should submit the following:

  • A 500 word essay explaining why you want to intern with Congress
  • Résumé
  • Unofficial SJSU transcript
  • A two to three page writing sample
