Engagement Reports

ALL in Award Certificate

IPACE encouraged SJSU to reauthorize its participation in the National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE). These reports help us to learn about student political participation, to address participation equity gaps, and to plan civic engagement programming.

IPACE Director Dr. Mary Currin-Percival serves as the Civic and Voter Empowerment Coordinator (CVEC) for SJSU. In this capacity, she serves as liaison between the California Secretary of State’s Office and the university for implementing the provisions of the Student Civic and Voter Empowerment Act (AB 963) [pdf]. As CVEC, she drafts required voting communications for the campus, chairs the campus SCVEA Committee, updates the campus regarding important election dates and election resources (including SJSU Votes), and drafts the campus Civic and Voter Empowerment Action Plan (CVEAP) (with committee input).

SJSU has been recognized as a 2024 “All In Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting”.
