Academic Notice
Students on academic notice will be placed in one of these three categories at the end of the semester:
1. Good Academic Standing
The student has earned at least a 2.0 semester GPA, which is high enough to bring the SJSU cumulative GPA to 2.0.
2. Continued Academic Notice
The student has earned at least a 2.0 semester GPA, but it is not high enough to bring the SJSU cumulative GPA to 2.0. The student will be notified by a CoSS SSC Advisor with next steps.
3. Disqualification
The student has earned below a 2.0 semester GPA (which will also bring the cumulative GPA down). The student can request further information by going to the Disqualification and Reinstatement page.

Students on Academic Notice within the College of Social Sciences will have a hold placed on their account that will prevent them from making changes to their schedules. In order to remove the hold, First Time and Continued Academic Notice students must complete a set of specific requirements.
