The first chapter of your report is:

• also your first progress report.
• due at the end of the first month.
• should consist of the following sections numbered as shown below:

1.0 Introduction

Describe the general problem and why it is of interest.
Use references.

2.0 Literature Review (5 single-space pages minimum)

You must review and list at least 20 appropriate references for your literature review.
Summarize the findings from these references in this subsection of the chapter.
Appropriate references include:

• books
• journal articles
• articles published in conference proceedings
• NASA technical reports

At least 5 of these references must have been published within the past 5 years to ensure that you become aware about the latest developments in your topic.

3.0 Project Objective

In conusltation with your project/thesis advisor write a paragraph describing the specific objective for your project (e.g. what do you plan to analyze or design as part of your project)

4.0 Methodology

Discuss the methodology you plan to follow to achieve your project objective.
