Certificate in Cybersecurity Foundations
The Computer Engineering Department offers an 18-unit certificate program at the undergraduate level to students seeking career opportunities in cybersecurity. The program aligns with the nationally defined knowledge areas and prepares the students with well-grounded fundamentals to become a professional in cybersecurity. The certificate covers the following technical topics:
- Cybersecurity knowledge, security protocols and standards
- Risk management, data and information security, and operational impacts of lapses
- Cryptography, public key infrastructure, and security properties
- Secure protocols for network communications and basic network attacks
- Secure system architecture, operating system security, and software vulnerabilities
- Advanced algorithms, and data analysis and visualization
