Graduating International Students

• Celebration Registration Information

  ISSS is pleased to invite graduating international students and their guests to an in-person celebration!

  • Graduates, please register by the deadline noted above.
  • Guests are welcome to attend. Graduates, please indicate the number of guests when you register.

  
  Be prepared to upload:

  • 1 photo of yourself
  • A brief message for your fellow graduates or family (50 words or less)

  We will prepare a slide for each graduate who registers for the celebration and provides the information requested above. Please note that this slide is only for ISSS use and is separate from whatever your department or university commencement may be doing.

• Apply to be a Student Speaker

  Each semester, one international graduate student and one international undergraduate student are selected to represent their graduating class at our Celebration. Interested students should apply via the online form by April 30, 2024. Selected speakers will be notified by May 2, 2024.

  Eligibility

  • Must be graduating the semester that they are applying to speak
  • Must be in good academic standing (Grad Students: GPA of 3.0+; Undergraduates: GPA of 2.0+)

  Successful candidates will submit an application that…

  • Appeals to the interest and common experiences of SJSU international students
  • Demonstrates clarity of ideas (well-organized, clear message)
  • Demonstrates quality of content (thoughtful, creative, and original)

  We hope to honor our graduates virtually via our @SJSUinternational Instagram page. Here’s what you can do to help us recognize you:

  • Submit your slide information via the registration link above (just select “not attending”)
  • Share graduation photos on Instagram and tag us @SJSUinternational and we'll share it in our Stories
  • Pick up your graduation gift from ISSS (see section below)
• Graduation Gift from ISSS

  ISSS is pleased to offer a small graduation gift to all international graduates. Gifts will be available for pick up at the following dates and locations:

  • At the Celebration event (see details above)
  • At ISSS during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM-4:30 PM) between May 6-24, 2024.
• Be Featured on Our Instagram

  Graduates can be featured on our Instagram in multiple ways:

  • Tag us on Instagram at @SJSUinternational and we’ll share your post on our Stories
  • When you register for the Celebration event, you’ll have the option of indicating if you want us to share your slide in an Instagram post. Provide your ID handle and we’ll tag you when it’s posted.
  • Not attending the Celebration event but want a slide? Just fill out the registration form and select the “not attending, but create a slide for me” option. Don’t forget to indicate that you want it posted on Instagram.
