Biography
I received my Ph.D. from Princeton University in 1994 and taught at the University of Michigan and Pomona College before coming to SJSU in Fall 2001. My research interests are in various areas of algebra and combinatorics, including geometric group theory, especially groups of non-positive curvature; the combinatorics of partially ordered sets (extremal set theory); l 2 (co)homology and other invariants; sporadic finite simple groups, and related phenomena; and modular groups and braid groups.
