Graduate Programs
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers an MA Mathematics degree, an MS Mathematics degree, and an MS Statistics degree. For each math degree, a student must pass 30 units of course work. In addition, a student must either pass two comprehensive exams or write a thesis or perform a writing project while under the supervision of a math department faculty member. The MS Statistics degree requires a minimum of 36 units of classes. We have a wide range of faculty research areas such as algebra, applied mathematics, dynamical systems, linear algebra, graph theory, combinatorics, statistics, and mathematics education.
