Friday

October 4th

• 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm - Family Weekend Check-In
• Location: 7th Street Plaza

  • Kick-off Parent and Family Weekend by stopping by our Check-In location. Pick up your welcome packet, which includes your event tickets, a weekend campus parking pass, and a special SJSU Family swag bag full of Spartan gear. Friendly staff will be available to answer any questions you may have about the weekend’s events. This is also a great time to get familiar with campus and start planning your weekend!

• 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm - Career Center Open House
• Location: ADM 255
  • Stop by the SJSU Career Center to meet the team and learn about the resources available to help your student explore career paths, find internships, and prepare for job opportunities. Discover how we support Spartans’ success from their first year to graduation!

• 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm - Guardian Scholars Open Lounge
  Location: Clark Hall, First Floor
  • Join us at the Guardian Scholars Open Lounge to meet our dedicated team and learn about the support and resources we offer to students who have experienced foster care or are determined Independent. Discover how we empower our scholars through academic, career, and personal development opportunities, and see how we help them thrive at SJSU and beyond!

• 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm - Friday Night Family Social
• Location: Bowling & Billiards Center, Starbucks Lounge & Theater Courtyard (Student Union)
  • Join us for a relaxed and fun evening to kick off Parent and Family Weekend! Mingle with other Spartan families, enjoy light refreshments, and participate in fun activities like bowling and billiards. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and get into the Spartan spirit as we gear up for a weekend full of exciting events.

Saturday

October 5th

• 8:00 am - 9:15 pm & 10:15 am - 2:00 pm - Family Weekend Check-In
• Location: 7th Street Plaza
  • Missed check-in on Friday? Don’t worry! Stop by on Saturday morning to get your welcome packet and all the information you need for the day’s activities. Please note: Check-in will be closed from 9:15 am to 10:15 am to ensure no one misses out on the University Welcome. There will still be plenty of time to check in, as we’ll be open until 2:00 pm!

• 9:30 am - 10:15 am - University Welcome
• Location: Morris Dailey Auditorium
  • Start your day at the Parent and Family Weekend University Welcome with a delicious breakfast bar. Hear from university leadership and learn about the exciting things happening at SJSU, including updates on student life, academics, and future plans for the campus. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain insight into your student’s experience and discover how SJSU supports their success!

• 10:30 am - 2:00 pm - Breakout Sessions

• Location: Various 

  • All Weekend: Visit Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Center (SRAC)

  • 10:30 am - 1:30 pm: Join a campus tour! Tours delivered at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm. (Meet at 7th St. Plaza)
  • 10:30 am - 2:00 pm: Check out the Student Wellness Center! Tours delivered every 30 minutes - Student Wellness Center
  • 10:30 am - 11:15 am: Teaching Pathways and Field Experience with Gina Muriera - Student Union Meeting Room 3
  • 10:30 am - 11:15 am: Equipando Padres University with Rose Martinez (bilingual/bilingüe) - Student Union Meeting Room 4

  • Experience where your student eats by enjoying a meal at the SJSU Dining Commons! This is a chance to see firsthand the variety of options available to students while connecting with other parents and families. Explore the many food stations offering something for everyone, and enjoy lunch in the heart of campus.

• 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Brew & Vine Tailgate**
• Location: CEFCU Stadium 

  • Get ready for some pre-game fun at the Brew & Vine Fest! This exciting tailgate features local breweries and wineries, giving you a taste of the region’s best drinks. Enjoy music, food, and Spartan spirit as you gear up for the big game. Your ticket to the Brew & Vine Fest includes admission to the SJSU Football vs. Nevada game, so come ready to cheer on the Spartans!

     

• 4:30 pm - SJSU Football vs Nevada**
  • Location: CEFCU Stadium
  • Watch the Spartans take on Nevada! There’s nothing like the excitement of a live football game, and we encourage all families to come out and show their Spartan pride. Don’t forget—your Brew & Vine Fest ticket includes admission to the game, so be sure to stick around after the tailgate for some thrilling college football action!

Sunday

October 6th

• 9:30 am - 12:00 pm - Sunday Brunch** - Sold Out
• Location: Rookies Sports Lodge (99 First St, San Jose, CA)

  • Closeout Parent and Family Weekend with a special Sunday Brunch hosted on the patio of Mezcal & Rookies Sports Lodge in downtown San José. Enjoy a delicious meal while connecting with fellow Spartan families and meeting members of our Family Advisory Board (FAB). This brunch is the perfect way to reflect on the weekend, learn how you can stay involved with SJSU, and get tips for supporting your student’s journey. Be sure to reserve your tickets early as space is limited!
