AB 1460

The Ethnic Studies Collaborative is responsible for the implementation of AB 1460 (Ethnic Studies Requirement) through collaboration between African American Studies, Asian American Studies, Chicano/a Studies, and Native American and Indigenous Studies. Each department and program has one representative on the ESC leadership team.

AB 1460 (August 17, 2020) provides guidance for the implementation of Ethnic Studies requirements in the CSU. The disciplinary focus is defined in AB 1460 as being one or more of four explicit groups: African American Studies, Asian American Studies, Chicano/a Studies, and Native American Studies.
