Faculty COVID-19 Experience
Fall 2020 Faculty Survey and Report
The Fall 2020 Faculty Survey was designed as a critical counterpart to the Spring 2020 Student Success Survey. The survey was conducted between November 16, 2020 and January 8, 2021. Questions explored faculty experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, well-being and caregiving responsibilities, and the transition to online teaching and remote working. All faculty (N=1931) were invited to participate by email from the Office for Faculty Success, and 714 respondents completed the survey, for a response rate of 37%.
The team that developed and conducted the survey and analyzed the data included representatives from across Academic Affairs and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The goal was to gather feedback on the factors affecting faculty during Fall 2020 and to identify areas where the institution can provide additional support.
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact faculty-success@sjsu.edu.
