New Program - MS in Speech-Language Pathology
San José State University now offers an online MS in Speech-Language Pathology. Through rigorous coursework and clinical practicum, students are equipped to meet the needs of our culturally and linguistically diverse community. Join us to make a meaningful impact!
MS in Speech-Language PathologyThe Post-Master Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC), designed for professionals with an MSW, qualifies you for certification with the state of California as a school social worker. This 10-credit program includes four units of externship done in a school setting.
Prepare yourself for a rewarding career supporting students as a school social worker with the PPSC. This opportunity is available for qualified professionals in California with an MSW, currently working in social work. School social workers help students achieve their full potential in the school setting and work closely to enhance their well-being at home and within the community.

The Pupil Personnel Services Credential's application process goes directly through the department. Please follow the steps outlined in the video when applying to the program.
Program Features
Online classes
Learn from anywhere in California. Six of the ten credits are completed online.
School internship
The four-credit field experience is completed in person in your California location. It prepares you with skills to promote and support student’s academic and social successes.
Two areas
Successfully completing this program makes you eligible to apply for the California State PPSC in two areas: 1) School Social Work and 2) Child Welfare & Attendance.
