Benefits
The benefits unit manages all benefits-related processes for faculty and staff and provides support and information related to employee health benefits and retirement, tuition fee waiver program, and additional benefit programs such as life insurance, tax-sheltered annuities and more.
Class/Comp
The Classification and Compensation team is tasked with maintaining equitable compensation on campus and within the CSU. The team is responsible for Compensation and Classification Reviews, Volunteer & POI appointments, Position Management and a host of other compensation-related processes.
HRIS
Our team supports all employees in the use of HR technology systems such as PageUp and PeopleSoft (SJSU @ Work). We troubleshoot system problems, provide training and documentation, and ensure the systems are working as expected. We analyze data and provide reports for internal UP units as well as departments across campus as needed. Our team manages the University Personnel websites and documentation and develops workflow-based forms via DocuSign and, in collaboration with IT, creates OnBase forms and workflows.
Leave, Workers’ Comp and Accommodation Services
The Leave, Workers’ Compensation and Accommodation Services unit manages the processes and policies related to various types of leaves and assists employees with understanding options available to them. The team also manages worker’s compensation claims and provides support to employees who need workplace accommodations.
Payroll & Personnel Transaction Services (PPTS)
PPTS supports all employees by providing essential information and assistance related to pay, time entry, and absence management. The team ensures timely payment by processing transactions for new hires, transfers, salary changes, and more.
