Welcome to the College of Information, Data & Society at San José State University! Our college, formerly known as the College of Professional and Global Education, stands out with its unique focus on advancing the dynamic fields of information and data science. Our two leading academic units, the School of Information (iSchool) and the Department of Applied Data Science (ADS), reflect our unwavering commitment to these pivotal areas. The rebranding and refocus of the college name underscores the profound societal impact of these departments through their innovative and interdisciplinary approaches.

We offer forward-thinking academic programs designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills to tackle the world's emerging challenges. Our curriculum purposefully addresses the complexities of analyzing, managing, protecting, securing, designing, organizing and preserving data, information, records and archives in real-world scenarios. Emphasizing technology-oriented and user-focused practices, we ensure our graduates are prepared to deliver impactful solutions in an increasingly data-driven world.
