Dr. Tonia San Nicolas-Rocca received her Ph.D. in Information Systems and Technology
from Claremont Graduate University located in Claremont, California. Her research
interests include cybersecurity, health information systems and knowledge management.
Dr. San Nicolas-Rocca has published her work in numerous peer-reviewed research journals
and conference proceedings. Dr. San Nicolas-Rocca has taught undergraduate and graduate
level courses in computer information systems for over eighteen years. In addition
to teaching, Dr. San Nicolas-Rocca has more than six years of industry experience
in the analysis, design, implementation and strategic use of wide area networking
systems and security within multinational organizations. Dr. San Nicolas-Rocca is
part of the SJSU interdisciplinary initiative in cybersecurity. She teaches cybersecurity
and networking offered to SJSU iSchool graduate students.
Simon Shim

Professor Simon Shim is a professor and chair of the Department of Applied Data Science at San José State University. He was on the editorial board of IEEE Computer for 10 years. He worked as a director at SAP Labs in Palo Alto, CA, USA. He was a guest editor for several special issues of IEEE Computer. He has published more than 50 papers in journals and conferences. He has co-authored two published technical book. He received a PhD in computer science from the University of Minnesota. His current research areas include LLMs, machine learning, deep learning, and database management. He has served as a co-chair of IEEE Big Data Services and has organized and served as a workshop chair of IEEE data engineering, IEEE mobile commerce and IEEE electronic commerce. He had been an editor for Web Technologies column at IEEE Computer for five years. He has served in many international conferences/workshops as a technical committee member.
