The College of Information, Data and Society is dedicated to fostering a strong and supportive research culture by offering a range of services and programs to ensure the success of RSCA-active faculty and to promote student research within the college. These initiatives are designed to advance the research and scholarly activities of faculty within the Department of Applied Data Science and the School of Information, providing comprehensive support throughout their academic pursuits.
Research and Writing Resources
Article Process Charges (APCs)
The College offers limited funds to eligible CIDS faculty for covering article processing charges in open-access peer-reviewed publications.
Editing Services
Editing services are available through Edit911 to CIDS faculty to improve nearly completed pieces of writing or drafts of grant proposals, journal articles, book chapters, white papers and other research-related documents.
Grant Writing Support
The College offers dedicated grant-writing support through Your Writing Helper to help CIDS faculty secure grant funding for their groundbreaking research.
Research Assistant Support
The College supports faculty research by providing paid opportunities for students to engage in research activities through research assistant awards.
Statistical Consulting
CIDS faculty can access professional statistical consulting services through The Analysis Factor.
Summer Research Stipends
There are a limited number of Summer Research Stipends for eligible CIDS faculty in the college to support research and scholarly progress during the summer.
RSCA Metric
The CIDS RSCA metric measures the research, scholarship and creative activity of faculty members from the two academic schools and departments comprising the college: School of Information and Department of Data Analytics.
