Misconduct at SJSU
San José State University (SJSU) is dedicated to fostering and upholding a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all students, employees, and visitors. We strive to ensure that everyone on campus can learn, work, and thrive in a secure and welcoming atmosphere. Providing clear and accessible ways for our students, faculty, staff, and guests to report any conduct issues is a priority. Our aim is to create a community where individuals feel empowered to raise serious concerns without fear of retaliation.
The CSU recently published its Other Conduct of Concern: Systemwide Guidance document [pdf], which outlines what qualifies as Other Conduct of Concern (OCC) and emphasizes the importance of addressing problematic behavior.
At SJSU, misconduct generally falls into one of three main categories. It's important to understand that OCC refers to concerning behavior that, while inappropriate, does not violate any laws or university policies.
Types of Misconduct
Title IX & Inclusion
To report concerns related to Title IX, discrimination, harassment, or retaliation involving any member of the campus community.
Student Conduct
To report concerns about a student's conduct (Academic Misconduct or Non-Academic Misconduct).
OCC
To report concerns involving any member of the campus community not related to Title IX, discrimination, harassment, or retaliation.
