Vacant Rate

University Vacant Rate is a budgeted salary range for the cost of hiring a temporary faculty to cover the instruction normally assigned to a tenure line faculty released from instructional assignments.
The rate is calculated by pricing the weighted average lecturer salary from fall payroll data across all of our instructional programs, and is published by Academic Business & Strategic Operations on an annual basis or when adjustment is deemed necessary.
The University Vacant Rate for 2025-26 is $79,890.
