Dear Campus Community,

The Office of the Provost is launching the search for the Senior Vice Provost (SVP) and Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO). This will be a campus-only search and is expected to be completed by mid-fall.

I am seeking nominations for members to serve on this search committee. In accordance with university policy, S16-8, Selection and Review of Administrators, the committee shall be composed of faculty, students, administrators and staff. Faculty shall comprise a majority on the committee, and consideration will be given to the representation of the diversity of the campus.

I invite you to nominate yourself or others who are interested in serving in this important process. Nominations must include a written statement reflecting one’s interest and qualifications for serving on the search committee. Submit a nomination form by 12 pm on Friday, September 5. Any questions about this search process should be directed to Jessica Larsen, jessica.larsen@sjsu.edu.

About the position
The Senior Vice Provost (SVP) and Accreditation Liaison Officer reports directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. Working with the Provost and the leadership team of Academic Affairs, the SVP will provide strategic leadership for the division across the areas of faculty success, student success, institutional research and strategic analytics, undergraduate education, graduate education, program assessment, and campus accreditation. This leadership role provides day-to-day operational oversight of many of the central units and processes in the Division of Academic Affairs, an operation that includes over 2,000 faculty, 1000 student workers, and 500 staff with an operational budget of over $300M. The SVP plays a pivotal role in implementing the university’s strategic plan and ensures cross-divisional collaboration to enhance the overall academic mission, including student and faculty success, as well as advancing the campus mission as an R2 research-intensive institution.

Sincerely,
Vincent J. Del Casino, Jr.
