Seeking Nominations for Interim Dean, Lurie College of Education

Sent: January 21, 2025

From: Vincent J. Del Casino, Jr., Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

As you know, Dean Lattimer will transition to her new role as Provost CSULA on March 1st. We will need an Interim Dean of the Lurie College of Education to serve from that date onward while we search for a permanent dean. I will follow up with more details on the search process for the permanent dean later today. In the meantime, with this email I ask that colleagues in the college submit names for consideration; I will use this list to speak with prospective candidates and appoint an interim.

The interim dean will work closely with the leadership of the college and campus to maintain the forward momentum of all the great projects and programs in the College and provide leadership as we search and then transition to a permanent dean. The candidate must be a Full Professor. I am only seeking nominees from within the College of Education (e.g., those who have current appointments in the College of Education).

All interested parties are encouraged to submit a nomination form by 5 pm, Friday, January 24.

Thank you for helping us identify strong candidates to lead the Lurie College of Education during this important transition.
