We are honored that you are considering San Jose State University to further your
education. An upper division transfer applicant is a student that will have completed
at least 60 transferable semester units or 90 quarter units (and does not have a bachelor’s
degree). If you want to meet with a pre-admission counselor or take a live virtual
tour, visit our Student Outreach and Recruitment office at sjsu.edu/SOAR.
Check application and document deadlines, as well as deadlines for completing academic
requirements, applying for financial aid, and submitting a housing application to
live on campus.
For students who are planning to attend a California Community College (CCC) after
high school, the Transfer Success Pathway (TSP) is a program that began with the high
school graduating class of 2023 and provides a dual admission opportunity for eligible
first-time, first-year who commit to transferring from a CCC to a California State
University (CSU) within three years. The program is designed to increase access to
the CSU for students who have faced academic, financial, or personal hardships that
previously prevented them from attending.
