Equitable Teaching Lecturer Retreat
Are you an SJSU lecturer committed to equitable teaching outcomes for your students?
Are you looking for meaningful connections with like-minded colleagues?
What would grading look like if equity were at the center of our assessment strategies?
This semester’s retreat invites lecturers to step back from daily routines and reimagine how we assess student learning. Together, we will explore approaches to grading and feedback that more accurately reflect student growth, reduce barriers, and create pathways for success across diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
In addition to deepening our understanding of equitable assessment practices, this retreat is also about building community. Through collaborative discussions, shared experiences, and peer exchange, participants will have the chance to strengthen connections with colleagues across disciplines. By the end of the retreat, lecturers will leave with both concrete strategies to implement in their classrooms and an expanded network of peers committed to fostering just and inclusive learning environments.
Participants will receive a $250 stipend for participating. Breakfast and lunch with be provided. Register at this link.
